Are you having to do double entries to get data into NAV?
This is obviously the most inefficient, waste of resource and is also prone to errors.
Are you relying on XML Ports to import data into NAV?
While this is much better than the double entries, it’s still
an inefficient process, requires manual processing, and takes time for data to show up in NAV.
Are you using NAS to automatically synchronize or import data into NAV?
This may seem like the obvious choice, is the only choice for
versions prior to NAV 2009, but it still lacks efficiency because it must run on a scheduled basis, which means you still have to wait between intervals to get up-to-date data. Furthermore, since it isn’t interactive, when there’s an error, those records will take even more time to update. Did you know, each NAS service also takes up a client license?
If you answer yes to any of the above questions, then what you want and need is
integration via a web service. It will dramatically cut down on double entries,
eliminate the need for xml ports, does not take up a client license, and best of all,
provides instant synchronization and interactive error handling by providing instant
feedback to users when an error is encountered.
